Wethersfield Estate is one of the most distinguished grand historic estates in the area. In the winter, 20 miles of trails on the Wethersfield Estate become a winter wonderland for hiking, snow-shoeing, and cross-country skiing. $10 gets you a day pass to spend as much time as you like exploring their romantic wooded trails. Need equipment? No problem, there are several rental options in the area.
EXPLORE THE LOCAL AREA
Orvis Sandanona, located just minutes away from the inn, is iconic in the region as the oldest permitted shooting preserve in the United States. The main clubhouse was built during the presidency of Thomas Jefferson, and the four-hundred-acre property has been hosting all types of skeet shooting, hunting, and fishing events ever since. Available for private lessons for all types of activities, from the novice to expert, and no equipment is necessary.
