We’re hoping everyone had a lovely holiday season. We have really been gearing up for a busy 2023, taking some time for the team to rest in January..and in the blink of an eye, it’s almost March…
As I sat down to write this letter to you, I began to really think about March. March has an identity crisis. Not Winter…Not yet Spring as we like to imagine it, with baby veggies and flowers popping up from the ground. So why travel in March?
Well, March is when the Hudson Valley begins to wake up from its Winter slumber. There is still a slight chill is still in the air, but you can see Spring is starting to peek out among the fields and woods. Farms start to buzz with activity as they welcome the arrival of lots of new babies. Outdoor antique shows reopen, and entire you to come out of your warm house and mingle with humanity again.
Visit Us for Restaurant Week
And this year…March is also the time for Hudson Valley Spring Restaurant Week! What better way to usher us into Spring, then to come enjoy our Restaurant Week Menu.
The centerpiece of our 3 course, $49.95 menu is our luscious Deconstructed Chicken Pot Pie. Highlighting Spring veggies like peas, baby carrots, and new potatoes, scented with white wine and thyme, and topped with a flakey rich pastry. It gives you the comfort of a chilly Winter night, with the promise and delight of Spring. Finish the meal with a decadent chocolate dessert we call “The Aphrodisiac”, and you won’t be sorry you made the trip.

A PARTNER PROFILE: STONEWOOD FARM
This month, as the ground starts to awaken and farmers start to gear up for their growing season, we want to introduce you to our neighbors at Stonewood Farm. One of our favorite farmer friends…Stonewood Farm is a small farm with a huge heart! Their 15 acres, a modest size in these parts..supplies us with amazing heirloom tomatoes for our famous smokey tomato salad, and dozens of other gorgeous veggies. But they are so much more. They apprentice gardeners, help special schools have their own edible gardens for their kids to learn from, and in 2021, they decided to become a not-for-profit organization. Now they have expanded their amazing work to include feeding struggling working families, seniors, and disabled children in our local community and its surroundings.
